Crude Corn Oil

Crude Corn Oil is an unrefined vegetable oil extracted from the germ of corn (maize) through mechanical pressing (expellers) or solvent extraction. We are producing it by mechanical pressing (expellers). It retains natural phospholipids, free fatty acids, and other impurities, making it ideal for further refining. The oil has a deep golden color and a mild aroma.

Characteristics:

  • Appearance: Golden to dark yellow liquid
  • Composition: Contains free fatty acids, phospholipids, waxes, and other natural compounds
  • Processing: Requires refining (degumming, neutralization, bleaching, and deodorization) before use in food applications

Degumming Process for Degummed Crude Corn Oil

Degumming is the first step in refining crude corn oil to remove phospholipids (gums) and impurities that affect oil quality. The process involves:
  • Water or Acid Treatment: Crude corn oil is mixed with hot water or a weak acid (such as citric or phosphoric acid) to hydrate phospholipids.
  • Separation: The hydrated phospholipids (gums) become insoluble and are separated using centrifugation.
  • Drying: The degummed oil is dried under vacuum to remove any remaining moisture.
This process improves the oil’s stability, enhances its refining efficiency, and makes it suitable for further processing into refined edible oil or industrial applications.

At RK Agro and Foods, we supply both Crude Corn Oil and Degummed Crude Corn Oil in bulk quantities, ensuring purity and industry-compliant specifications. Contact us for inquiries!
